The pain from a deep headache can be debilitating. And while going for Advil or ibuprofen can provide you some relief… It’s not instantaneous and overtime can create rebound headaches where the headache never really goes away. With over 50% of Americans having had a headache in the last 3 months, it’s important that we find ways to tackle not only the pain but the root cause. Although there are various types of headaches, these quick tips can help you determine what’s causing your headache as well as reducing the pain.

Water

Some headaches are caused simply by the lack of water. Water is like oil for the body… It keeps things running smoothly. When we don’t drink enough water, our body can’t function at full capacity. By ensuring you drink enough water you can limit the amount and severity of your headaches. Also, try drinking water when you have a headache. In almost all cases, it can help when combined with other techniques.

Stretching and Yoga

Stretching or massaging your neck, temples or your cheekbones can help with some headaches. Stretching your muscles can relieve tension and increase blood flow in the area which can help shorten the headache and reduce the pain. Yoga is even better because it targets and stretches the entire body and over time can improve blood flow that can potentially reduce or eliminate your headaches.

Aerobic exercise

Aerobic exercise can be great for headaches. not only does the exercise increase blood flow, but also causes your brain to release a flood of endorphins. These endorphins are designed to make you feel better, happier, and more alive. A lifestyle of exercise can strength in your blood vessels throughout your body. If this is related to your headaches, it can help to curb or eliminate them.
